FOUNDATION OF ALANYA UNIVERSITY
The Hamdullah Emin Paşa and His Wife Hatice Tahire Hanım Foundation (established in 1932), which founded the Private Hamdullah Emin Paşa College in 1978 as an educational foundation, began initiatives in 2007 to establish the first university in Alanya. Following the stakeholder meeting held on March 14, 2008, it was decided to prepare the necessary feasibility report for the establishment of a foundation university in Alanya.
Official Application and Establishment Process
Our founding foundation made its first official application to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on December 23, 2008, with the reference number 148/335, by submitting the feasibility report prepared on August 26, 2009, along with the required declarations and documents.
For Alanya University, the University Board of Trustees stipulated by law was formed by the founding foundation in 2009. In 2010, with the addition of new members, the total number of members was set at 15. At the Board of Trustees meeting held on December 4, 2010, developments in the physical, administrative, and financial structuring of the university were discussed, and the Board established working groups within itself to address these matters.
The draft of Alanya University’s Main Regulations was discussed and approved by the Founding Board of Trustees, endorsed by YÖK, and came into effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette dated July 18, 2011. The name Alanya Hamdullah Emin Paşa University was officially changed to ALANYA UNIVERSITY as per the decision published in the Official Gazette dated February 9, 2023, issue number 32099.
